How We Rank Deals
Our ranking methodology is transparent and entirely independent of commercial relationships. Here is exactly how we order the deals you see.
Commercial Relationships Do Not Affect Ranking
Retailers and affiliate networks cannot pay to have their deals ranked higher, featured more prominently, or displayed ahead of competitors. The commission we earn from a retailer has no bearing on where their codes appear. We rank deals using the same criteria whether or not they earn us a commission.
Ranking Factors
1. Discount Value
Primary factorDeals offering a higher percentage or fixed-amount discount are ranked above smaller savings. We parse each discount to compare like-for-like — a "20% off" code ranks above a "10% off" code for the same store.
2. Verification Status
Primary factorVerified codes — those we have tested at checkout and confirmed as working — are ranked above unverified codes. Codes that have been recently re-verified receive an additional ranking boost.
3. Recency
Secondary factorNewer codes are ranked above older ones. We use the date each code was last verified or added to determine freshness. This ensures recently published promotions surface quickly.
4. User Feedback
Secondary factorEvery deal card includes a "Did this work?" thumbs up/down widget. Codes with a higher ratio of positive feedback are ranked above those with negative reports. Codes that receive consistently poor feedback are flagged for manual review and may be removed.
5. Exclusivity
Minor factorExclusive codes — those negotiated directly with a retailer and only available through our site — receive a minor ranking boost. This reflects the added value of codes shoppers cannot find elsewhere.
User Sort Options
On store and category pages, you can override the default ranking by using the sort pills at the top of the deal list. The available options are:
- PPopular: Default sort. Combines discount value, verification status, recency, and user feedback into a single relevance score.
- BBiggest Discount: Sorts purely by discount value — highest percentage or fixed amount first.
- EExpiring Soon: Sorts by expiry date, soonest first. Codes with no expiry date appear at the end.
- NNewest: Sorts by the date each code was last verified or added, newest first.
Data Sources
We source deals from affiliate networks (Awin, CJ Affiliate, Rakuten), retailer newsletters, social media announcements, and our own monitoring tools. We do not accept payment to list a deal. Every promotion we discover is reviewed for legitimacy before publication.
Codes are tested at checkout before they appear on the site. Automated checks run regularly to flag codes that may have expired or stopped working. User feedback via the "Did this work?" widget provides an additional layer of real-world validation.
Common Questions
Can a retailer pay to rank higher?
No. Ranking is determined by discount quality, verification status, recency, and user feedback. Commercial relationships do not influence ranking order.
Do you show deals that earn you no commission?
Yes. We list every working code we find, including codes with no affiliate arrangement. Our goal is to be comprehensive, not to maximise commission.
How often are rankings updated?
Rankings are recalculated each time the page loads. New codes, updated verification dates, and fresh user feedback are reflected immediately.
What happens to codes with bad feedback?
Codes with consistently negative "Did this work?" feedback are flagged for immediate manual review. If confirmed as non-working, they are removed from the site within 24 hours.
How is this different from your editorial policy?
Our editorial policy covers how deals are selected, verified, and removed. This page focuses specifically on how deals are ordered and ranked once they are on the site.
