Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
MoneySaverCodes ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can exercise your rights under the CCPA/CPRA and UK GDPR.
1. Who We Are
MoneySaverCodes operates the website https://www.moneysavercodes.com. For data protection purposes, we are the data controller. Our ICO registration number is ZC115370. Contact us at contact@moneysavercodes.com.
2. What Data We Collect
2a. Data you provide
- Contact form submissions: name and email address when you contact us.
- Newsletter sign-up: email address if you opt in via our newsletter form. Your email is sent to Beehiiv, our email service provider, to manage subscriptions and deliver emails. Beehiiv may collect open/click data to measure engagement. We require double opt-in confirmation before adding you to our mailing list.
- Feedback: coupon feedback (Did this work?). We publish only the aggregate totals, and we never ask for your name or email to vote — but so that one visitor cannot vote repeatedly, we keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address against that vote for 90 days. See “Data we process ourselves” below.
2b. Data collected automatically
- Analytics data: page views, session duration, referral source, and device type via Google Analytics 4. IP addresses are anonymised.
- Session recording: anonymised heatmaps and session recordings via Microsoft Clarity to improve usability.
- Advertising data: Google AdSense may collect data to serve relevant ads. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Affiliate network data: when you click an affiliate link, the affiliate network (Awin, CJ Affiliate, Rakuten, Skimlinks) may set a tracking cookie to attribute any resulting commission. Skimlinks may also automatically convert some outbound retailer links into affiliate links. We do not receive your personal data from these networks.
- Amazon Associates data: MoneySaverCodes is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program (tag: moneysavercod-20). When you click an Amazon affiliate link, Amazon may set cookies to attribute any resulting commission. We earn a small commission from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Amazon processes this data under its own Privacy Notice.
2c. Data we process ourselves
Everything above is collected by a third party. This section covers the small amount of data MoneySaverCodes processes on its own servers, with no third party involved and nothing sold or shared.
- Your IP address, in hashed form. When you vote on a coupon or make a request that we rate-limit, we put your IP address through a one-way cryptographic hash and store only the result. We keep the hashed value for 90 days for vote integrity and 24 hours for rate limiting. We do not store the address itself, and the hash cannot be used to contact or identify you.
- Anonymous usage counters. Daily totals with no identifier attached — how many times a coupon was copied, saved or voted on, which placement a click came from, whether the visit was on mobile or desktop, and how many searches returned no results. These are counts only: they are not linked to you, to each other, or to any of the above.
- Search terms that returned nothing. Stored as a stripped, lower-case word with a daily count, so we know which retailers to add next. There is no identifier attached and no way to tie a term back to a visitor.
The lawful basis for all of the above is legitimate interests — keeping the site accurate, secure and usable. None of it is used for advertising or personalization, and none of it leaves our servers.
3. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies. You can manage your preferences via our cookie consent banner on first visit.
| Type | Purpose | Provider |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Cookie consent preferences | First party |
| Analytics | Page view tracking (consent required) | Google Analytics 4 |

| Newsletter delivery, open/click tracking (consent required) | Beehiiv | |
| Affiliate | Commission tracking on outbound clicks | Awin, CJ Affiliate, Rakuten, Skimlinks |

4. How We Use Your Data
- To respond to contact form enquiries.
- To improve the site based on analytics data.
- To serve relevant advertising via Google AdSense.
- To earn affiliate commission when you click deal links (this is anonymous).
- To send newsletters if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
5. Legal Basis for Processing
- Consent: analytics cookies, advertising cookies, and newsletter sign-up.
- Legitimate interests: basic site functionality, security monitoring, and fraud prevention.
- Contractual necessity: responding to enquiries you send us.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data with third-party processors solely to operate the site (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Google AdSense, Beehiiv email platform, Vercel hosting). All processors operate under GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.
7. Data Retention
- Contact form data: deleted within 12 months of last contact.
- Analytics data: retained for 26 months (Google's default).
- Hashed IP address (vote integrity): 90 days, then deleted automatically. Hashed IP address (rate limiting): 24 hours, then deleted automatically.
- Anonymous usage counters and no-result search terms: 90 days, then deleted automatically. Aggregate coupon vote totals are kept indefinitely, as they carry no identifier.
- Newsletter list: retained until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email or by contacting us.
8. Your Rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the rights below. Because we operate from the UK, we extend the same rights to every visitor rather than gating them by state:
- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it.
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Delete the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising — we do not sell your personal information for money, and the cookie banner is the opt-out for the analytics and advertising cookies that may count as "sharing".
- Non-discrimination we will not degrade the service you receive for exercising any of these rights.
- Withdraw consent at any time (via the cookie banner or by contacting us).
To exercise any right, email contact@moneysavercodes.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can contact us first and we will try to resolve it. You can also complain to a regulator — for California residents, the California Privacy Protection Agency, and for our UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office: cppa.ca.gov and ico.org.uk.
MoneySaverCodes is operated from the United Kingdom, so the ICO is our supervising data protection authority even though this site serves US shoppers. Visitors in the UK and EU retain their full UK/EU GDPR rights.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on the site. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
11. Contact
